The heart is one of our most essential organs in our body. A malfunctioning heart would cause many other problems in our body. It is crucial for us to take care of our heart in order to live and stay healthy.
Heart researchers in Salk Lake City, Utah, are doing an exciting new study which demonstrates that stem cells of one’s own cells can be supercharged to fix heart damages. The treatment process is pretty much the same as any other stem cell treatments. The stem cells are taken out of the patients’ body and put in a bioreactor for several days for them to be “supercharged.” Waiting for the young healthy stem cells to grow and the old weaker cells to die off. Then, the healthier stem cells are injected back to the patients’ body and let them trigger the immune system to help the healing process.
Utah Senator, Ralph Okerlund, had done this treatment to treat his heart problems. Before he had this treatment, he had problems walking back and forth at short distances. Although he still couldn’t start running and walking long distances, but after the treatment, he showed no problems walking slowly and doing what he wants. He was happy and excited about the positive results. Let’s hope that the study and the treatment can help many other people in need.
